Most of us are aware that we all have areas which we are gifted and some areas which we are “not inclined”. What we don’t always consider is just like there can be physical disability that impair someone being able to met an expectation, there can be other factors “harder” for us to see that can impact us or others. The four areas we should work to mindful of are, Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Abilities. We wouldn’t expect a person who their eyesight due to an injury to read to us. Some people have had emotional trauma which has changed their ability to interact in the same sort of way. If they gave been betrayed or mistreated and that “injury” didn’t heal then they won’t be able to trust/love like someone who hasn’t had that trauma. Spiritually there are disabilities as well, and these can be had by any group, any faith, any professed belief system, or those with none at all. The ability to show “love” and “decency” quick mile post to a persons “Spiritual” health. Spiritual “health” is visible in these elements: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
